Upon the invitation of Mr Abdoulie Janneh, Acting Chair of the Coalition for Dialogue on Africa (CoDA) Board of Directors, the CoDA Secretariat organized the 14th CoDA Board of Directors Meeting which was held at the Sheraton Addis Hotel on Monday, 24th April 2017.
The meeting was the first to be led by the new chair of the CoDA Board, H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The meeting also welcomed new members to its prominent Board which included, Mr. Abdelhakim Ben Hammouda (Mr. Hakim Ben Hammouda (Former Interim Finance Minister of Tunisia), Professor Jendayi Elizabeth Frazer (,Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs), H.E. Newai Gebre-Ab (Chief Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia and Executive Director of the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI))
Following the transition phase of CoDA in 2015, the Board discussed the key areas to focus on and
identified the following pressing issues related to the continent:
- Positioning Africa in the dynamics of the new world order
- Youth empowerment and employment through Agriculture
- Economic transition on the Continent
- Social Sector- Health Education, food and nutrition.
